Marketing Specialist (China Market)

Job Description

The Marketing Specialist is responsible for marketing activities related to the recruitment of international students either through educational / student recruitment agents or direct admissions particularly from China market as assigned by the CEO.

This newly created Marketing Specialist role is responsible for marketing our college’s courses internationally and recruiting international students particularly from China market in accordance with the Standards for RTOs and CRICOS compliance requirements and the College’s policies and procedures. Under the general direction of CEO, the Marketing Specialist will have the following responsibilities:

  • Identify market opportunities and advise on the development, coordination and implementation of plans for competitive pricing and promoting the college’s courses.

  • Follow the College’s marketing strategy and contribute to the development of the strategy through providing market feedback, etc.

  • Organise and/or attend student recruitment events as part of the marketing strategy.

  • Organise advertising for student recruitment and event promotion purposes and Alumni events and manage communications strategy with Alumni.

  • Ensure students are provided with required and accurate information prior to enrolment.

  • Recruit students from particular target markets as assigned by the CEO.

  • Liaise and build and maintain relationships with educational/ student recruitment agents.

  • Provide educational/ student recruitment agents with the most updated marketing materials.

  • Provide training to educational/ student recruitment agents regarding the College’s course information, facility, support services, policies & procedures and other related information.

  • Monitor the activities of educational/ student recruitment agents.

  • Provide recommendations to the CEO regarding preventive and corrective actions to be implemented by the educational/ student recruitment agents.

  • Administer educational/ student recruitment agent contracts.

  • Implement the access and equity policy.

  • Report to the CEO on activities each week.

  • Follow the College’s policies and procedures.

  • Carry out other duties as required.

  • Relationships and Roles

    Internal / External Cooperation

  • The Marketing Specialist works closely with the College’s other staff, Student Administration team, Events team and CEO in implementing the College’s marketing strategy. The Marketing Specialist is responsible for representing the College internally and externally and liaising with various student recruitment agents.

  • Maintain professional internal and external relationships that meet company core values.

  • Build trust, value others, communicate effectively, drive execution, foster innovation, focus on the customers/ students, collaborate with others, solve problems creatively and demonstrate high integrity.

  • Proactively establish and maintain effective working team relationships with all support departments.

  • Participate in a range of activities and workgroups within and outside the College as required.

  • Travel to China to attend international education exhibitions, conferences, seminars, etc

  • Other work duties as consistent with marketing specialist work area.

Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated experience in the areas of marketing, communications and/ or student recruitment within the education industry particularly in China market.

  • Demonstrated solid achievements in support business growth through outstanding work in marketing areas particularly in China international education industry.

  • Qualifications in business, marketing or any other relevant subjects.

  • Professional development must be available to enable maintenance and development of the currency of their qualifications and experience.

  • Excellent English-Mandarin communications skills, both verbal and written.

  • Excellent team and interpersonal relationship skills.

  • Self-motivated and result-oriented.

  • Can work independently and excel in a multicultural team.
